This week I got reacquainted with an old friend.
We both had wanted the same guy.
I didn't realize it at the time.
I was the one dating him...
I guess she pined.
So we lost touch, somewhere along the way,
I don't even remember why.
So I come to find out,

The saddest thing ever is to see a young life get snuffed out
before you see what they can become.

I loved Amy Winehouse,
I love jazz and her unique style
was amazing.
I am glad she shared a piece of herself with us before
she lost her battle with drugs.
I can only pray that my children
and grandchildren yet to be born,
that they will not have such struggles
and I do not have to see the loss of something amazing
due to bad choices.

In a world where everyone is seeking for love,
very few know how to hold onto it.
I have a hard time with people telling me they love me
because most times it's not
something they mean.

I had a friend who told me everyday that he loved me.
I always hated that he would tell me because I know
someday it would end suddenly,
which is exactly what happened.
Over something trivial, something so stupid he stopped talking
to me.
That little I love you everyday turned quickly into
something else.
I don't understand how you can tell someone you love them...
then walk away so completely.
Am I the only one who can't turn off emotions
so easily?

Sometimes we hold onto relationships far longer
than they are good for us.
Sure there are times when you just need to work
harder in a relationship to keep it going,
but when someone constantly depletes you,
sucks your energy and constantly takes you
to bad places...it's time to cut your losses.
When I was married and in a bad place,
the thing the counselor would ask is...
Will he change?
She also told me, if he does change, great...
you can remarry him later.
Well we divorced and he is now on his 3rd marriage,
which I constantly hear they are struggling to
keep it together.
So I was right, he never changed.
But also friends can suck the life out of you.
Do you have a friend who is constantly in crisis?
Take a hard look...
thing is they probably enjoy the chaos.
If you are into chaos, well enjoy draggin
each other down.
As for me and my house....
we choose to avoid it.

So my challenge for the day would be
to de-stress your life.
I could almost bet you have someone sucking your
energy.
Find those people who build you up instead
of energy suckers.
