I ran across an old friend this past week.
Things were not left on a good note,
not my doing...but the awkward silence
speaks volumes of how things were left.
We had an amazing time when we were younger...
I had great memories.
Through talking to her...
I realized why things were left the way they were.
She was part of a great betrayal that I only now
realized.
It reminds me that even though we may be sad that
people leave our lives, sometimes it is for the best.
And sometimes the things we don't know about...
are the things we should be grateful to be oblivious about.
My heart is saddened to realize that my best friend
betrayed me far worse than I had imagined.
Grateful for the years of between that I did not
have to feel it...and grateful for time that heals.
If I had known back then it would have hurt far worse.
Things happen for a reason and it is
true that sometimes people are meant to leave our lives.

Today I am drawn into thinking about the past. 

My mom use to own a fabric store and 

I use to spend hours with her at trade shows and 

little shops looking for the perfect fabrics 

for her store to sell. 

I learned to love fabrics, the way they are made...

and what you can do with them. 

I spent even more hours making my own clothing

and crafts for others. 

My mom is in the hospital, 

a small surgery turned into something 

that has us all worried and on edge. 

She had some heart trouble through the surgery

and thus is still being monitored. 

Funny how it takes an event to make us look back.

things slip by us.
The leaves start to change, and before we know it we are out of touch.

Where as I love the fall and it is amazing to me,
we all have seasons in life.
It is really easy to get caught up in things that are not important,
and before we know it...
the leaves have fallen off our relationships.

I use to have a boyfriend who all the girls would swarm to.
He knew all the right things to say and all the right things to do.
But, since I was his girl,
he stopped doing them for me.
He would boast...I could have any married woman I want.
Cuz the husband's don't know how to treat them.
They love the way I treat them.
Sad thing was, I hated watching him with the other girls,
cuz he forgot how to do them for me.

So, it is always easy to do things for someone for a minute,
but keeping them up for the long haul and letting people know how
you feel for a lifetime seems to be a hard thing to do.
If you can get that down...you are one lucky fellow.
